Dear Voter,
For the past 12 years it has been an honor
to represent you as a strong advocate of
quality of life issues on the Ventura City
Council. I am recognized as the
“environmental conscience” on the council —
the councilmember who facilitates and
champions progressive policies that have
resulted in Ventura being a greener and more
sustainable city.
Unfortunately, the foundations that I have
so carefully crafted over the years are
threatened because of current economic
challenges. There will be those who will be
willing to sacrifice the gains we have made
in order to balance budgets, fund public
safety, and support our local economy, but I
don’t see it that way!
I firmly believe that we can achieve these
important goals and more by taking the right
steps to: |
• diversify our economy with
“green” industry and jobs,
• promote and enable entrepreneurism and
local businesses, and
• streamline city government.

| I firmly believe that we can double our
efforts to: |
• enhance and strengthen our
neighborhoods,
• protect our environment,
• live and work sustainably, and
• be a socially responsible city by
easing the problem of affordable
housing.

I firmly believe that
this can be a pivotal time for opportunity
and that’s why I am enthusiastically running
for re-election to the Ventura City Council!

make Ventura a more sustainable,
economically viable, and vibrant community
for future generations to enjoy. |
